Pakistan PM Khan launches various mega projects in Gwadar PTI | Updated: Jul 5, 2021, 21:13 IST PTI The Gwadar port will give China access to the Arabian Sea ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday performed the ground-breaking of several mega projects and launched a number of other infrastructure ventures under the ambitious China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Pakistan's strategic coastal city of Gwadar. The CPEC, which connects Gwadar Port in Pakistan's Balochistan province with China's Xinjiang province, is the flagship project of China's ambitious multi-billion-dollar Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It will give China an opening to the Arabian Sea. The BRI is seen as an attempt by China to further its influence abroad with infrastructure projects funded by Chinese investments all over the world. Pakistan PM mulling to hold talks with 'insurgents' in Balochistan

ANI 5 July 2021, 11:03 pm Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan Islamabad [Pakistan], July 5 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said that he is deliberating to "hold talks with insurgents" in Balochistan as he blamed the previous administration for lack of development in the country's largest province. Addressing a gathering during his Gwadar visit, Khan said that the government would never have had to worry about "insurgency" in the province if attention had been paid to its development. "But we have given the biggest package to Balochistan because we believe that justice has indeed not been done with the people of Balochistan; they have been left behind," he said, as quoted by Dawn newspaper. Balochistan Senator criticises Pak govt for rejecting schemes for development of temple

ANI 5 July 2021, 8:36 pm Quetta [Balochistan], July 5 (ANI): Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) senator Danesh Kumar has critisised the federal government of Pakistan for rejecting all schemes he had suggested for the development of the historical Hinglaj Mata Temple located in Lasbela district. Dawn reported that the temple is visited by thousands of devotees every year from across the world. Addressing the media on Sunday, the senator said that in view of the religious tourism importance of Hinglaj Mata Temple, he submitted over a dozen development schemes for providing facilities to devotees who visited the temple every year but all the schemes and suggestions were outright rejected by the federal government.
