China and DRC sign MoU on Belt and Road cooperation

Updated  2021.01.07 08:38 GMT+8 CGTN The Democratic Republic of the Congo President Felix Tshisekedi (R) meets with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Kinshasa, DRC, January 6, 2021. /Xinhua China and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) on Wednesday. Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his DRC counterpart, Marie Tumba Nzeza, signed the MoU after earlier talks in Kinshasa.  The Chinese diplomat is on a five-nation tour in Africa – his first overseas trip in 2021. The DRC is Wang's second stop following his visit to Nigeria. Dr. Baloch is one of the numerous people who have personally experienced the repression policies of the Pakistani state. As a student at the Faculty of Medicine, he was forcibly arrested by Pakistani state forces and survived attempts of disappearance. Having suffered heavy torture, he was released only after growing public reaction, but he faced with political bans. Forced to leave his country where he was born and raised, Dr. Baloch talked about the repression of the Pakistani state and the problems and demands of the Baloch people.
