QUETTA: Federal Secretary for Housing and Works Dr Imran Zeb Khan on Wednesday discussed with Balochistan Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana various issues, including housing schemes in the province.
He said the federal government would extend all help and cooperation to the provincial government for resolving the housing issues in Balochistan.
Mr Khan said the government had already launched housing projects in the province under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Officials said it was also agreed in the meeting that new building codes would be formulated for the province as new technology had come along and it was time to build high-rise buildings in Quetta and other towns and cities of the province.
The chief secretary said the people had high expectations from the provincial government and that Chief Minister Jam Kamal Alyani was using all the resources available for the welfare of people.
Mr Rana said the provincial government would set up a colony for fishermen and its map and site would be shared with the federation as it would require the cooperation of the federal government.
The federal secretary said that the main purpose of his visit to the provincial capital was to work for the development of Balochistan and extend cooperation to the provincial government in connection with development projects, including housing schemes.
It was also agreed that regular meetings would be held regarding housing schemes.
