Chaos in SC Karachi registry as missing persons’ families turn up in big numbers

Clamour in the courtroom at the Supreme Court Karachi led Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar to briefly halt the proceedings on missing persons on Sunday. Top court directs LEAs to prioritise recovery of missing persons

By  Arshad Baig PHOTO: EXPRESS KARACHI:  Supreme Court on Sunday directed law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to prioritise recovery of missing persons and constitute a special cell to monitor the progress. During the hearing of a suo motu case taken after Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar was relayed complaints of missing persons by their relatives during a visit to district courts in Larkana, the apex court accepted applications submitted by families of missing person and ordered LEAs to keep SC human rights cell in the loop during investigations.
