CPEC : India and Baloch

Recent report from India says Government is monitoring CPEC and affects on demography and Chinese millitary in Pakistan. Chinese troups are joining security of CPEC. Most probably even in operations against Baloch. On the whole Pakistanis are on huge PR exercise to romping all nations to join CPEC. Inside Pakistan they are organising seminars, outside the country all Pakistani missions are tasked to hilight CPEC and demean India. On security front they have taken extra measures, despite losses to Chinese lives. Unless Baloch gives strong formidable resistance, the CPEC don't stop. India need to activate its campaign on CPEC for passing thru disputed territory. If CPEC is successful current Line of control will become a permanent border. Unfortunately Baloch leadership is divided and India cannot do much on this. Adding to this, Baloch leaders are poor in articulation of the problem to the world community. Holding few protest marches doesn't give much milage to the campaign,

Local construction firms get only four CPEC projects’ By  Jawwad Rizvi February 08, 2017 Print :  Business LAHORE: The government has allocated only four projects to the local constructors under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and those too under strict conditions, Sikandar Hayat Khattak , chairman, Constructors Association of Pakistan (CAP), said. “ The conditions of these projects are so stringent that hardly any local construction firm will qualify for it,” Khattak said while talking to The News on Tuesday. Chinese firms were being given huge incentives besides income tax a nd other duty exemptions on the CPEC projects, while the local industry was not being provided with a level playing field, he added. The condition, to sign a joint venture (JV) with a local partner in mega projects has also been revoked by the government for the Chinese in CPEC-related projects, despite that a 70-30 percent JV was mandatory for fore

The CPEC: the Indian angle  BR RESEARCH   FEB 7TH , 2017   0 VIEWS: 288 Joining CPEC has become the oft repeated foreign policy mantras by Pakistans civilian leadership. It is another thing that hardly a few know what exactly it means and how will it pan out from the economic standpoint. A few weeks ago, Pakistani military leadership joined its civilian peers in handing out invitations to join the CPEC. Only this time, it came as a surprise because the invitation was given to none other than Pakistans arch-enemy, India. Also common to this invitation, however, was the absence of any clear economic understanding of how and why would India join CPEC. In May 2016, the Islamabad-based Institute of Strategic Studies published a book titled CPEC: a game changer, which carried a chapter by former diplomat Malik Mohammad Ashraf, who wrote on CPEC: analysing the Indian factor. Ashraf noted that China has also invited India to join the project; acknowledging Indias historica

Lots of shouting, tiny stick Lots of shouting, tiny stick Donald Trump won't be winning any wars against Islamist terror if he imagines dismantling the Russia-China-Iran alliance is possible. His sabre-rattling against Iran is pointless By  PEPE ESCOBAR FEBRUARY 8, 2017 12:22 AM (UTC+8) 1 1 Here we go again. General “Mad Dog” Mattis, the US Secretary of Defense, declares Iran “is the single biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world.” National Security Advisor Gen. Michael Flynn puts Iran “on notice”. President Trump says “they are not behaving”, and, on his Superbowl interview, doubles down: “They are the No. 1 terrorist state. They’re sending money all over the place – and weapons. And… [they] can’t do that.” Iran is slapped with new sanctions. It’s as if Dick “Dark Side” Cheney and Donald “known unknowns” Rumsfeld never left. Never allow facts to get in the way of a bombastic quote. “State sponsor of terrorism” is a neocon meme for any nation

Namaskar, Mother India - the systematic genocide against Baloch people continues We turn to India for succour. We know no other mother. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 - 09:28 × Ahmar Mustikhan We the Baloch people turn to India to tell our stories of pain, deprivation and death. Like a child would turn to its mother. Recently, an 80-year-old Baloch folkloric and patriotic poet were among those killed in Balochistan as the Pakistan army continues with its scorched earth policy there to crush any opposition to the controversial China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Poet Misk Ali Bugti was killed in the Suhridarbar area of Dera Bugti on Wednesday, the pro-indepedence Baloch Republican Party announced. When you kill bards and poets, artists and intellectuals, you kill a people’s language, their very cultural and political identity.  Dera Bugti has been one of the main pockets of Balochistan’s resistance against Pakistani oppression for over a decade

Balochistan and Sindh rejects installation of Chinese Navy in Balochistan territory 07 February, 2017 Balochistan and Sindh refute Chinese Navy's installation plans in Balochistan waters, and terms such action an attempt of intrusion into sovereignty without their will and interests, which is a clear violation of Balochistan-Sindh Sovereignty. Pakistan Navy has disclosed that China would deploy its naval ships along with Pakistan Navy to safeguard the strategic Gwadar port and trade routes under the USD 46 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Balochistan and Sindh would never accept foreign boots on their lands and on as well as around their sovereign territories. South Korea in CPEC February 07, 2017 The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) offers huge business and investment opportunities to all countries and global institutions. Since the project was formally launched in April 2015, it has opened up multiple businesses in physical infrastructure, transportation, energy, and trade, and even more. The best opportunities exist for Pakistan’s investment partners. China could motivate Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan to invest in the CPEC-related projects. In the Middle East, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are traditional and sizeable investors in Pakistan. Both countries are part of the One Belt One Road (OBOR) and have special ties with Pakistan. They could play a significant role in CPEC investment. The United Kingdom, Germany, France, Turkey, Russia, Romania have joined the CPEC. Other investors from Europe such as Switzerland and Norway should also show interests in CPEC projects. In Eas
