Pakistan's Balochistan saw 2,886 terror attacks, 3,184 related deaths in last decade: Report

By  PTI Jan 13, 2021, 05:32 PM IST Karachi:  Pakistan 's restive  Balochistan  province saw 2,886 terrorist attacks and 3,184 related deaths in the last decade, according to a media report. From 2010 to 2015, 2,049 people died in 1,701 militant attacks in the southwestern province, SAMAA TV reported. From 2016 to 2020, 1,135 people were killed in 1,185 terror attacks. Among the 3,184 terror-related deaths in the last decade, 2,058 were civilians and 1,126 were security personnel, the news channel reported. Police officer shot dead in Peshawar

Bureau Report Published   January 31, 2021 PESHAWAR: The scene of the attack that claimed the life of a policeman on Saturday. — White Star PESHAWAR: A police officer was killed and two other persons were injured when assailants opened fire on them near the Central Jail on Saturday evening, police said. A police spokesperson identified the martyred poli­ceman as Inspector Khushdil Khan of the Counter Terrorism Department. He said that the injured persons were rushed to hospital after the incident. SP Mohammad Tahir told  Dawn  that the incident was being investigated and it was not immediately clear who the attackers were.
