Rashid Hussain’s sister reveals evidence of her brother’s extradition to Pakistan

Fareeda Baloch, the sister of the missing Rashid Hussain, has provided evidence of her brother’s extradition to Pakistan from United Arab Emirates.

In a tweet, Miss Baloch said: “Some people accusing me that I m spreading fake propaganda against UAE. But here are the proofs of illegal abduction and deportation of my brother I can give the copies of FIR we registered against illegal abduction of my brother. If you someone want more proof”. In the tweet she posted an official exit certificate for Rashid Hussain. The certificate, from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, ICA, was issued on July 7, 2019, and detailed Mr Hussain’s extradition from Al Bateen Executive Airport, Abu Dhabi, to Nushki, Balochistan.

The certificate shows Mr Hussain’s status as “permanently closed.” Under the exit code 21254185, Rashid Hussain was flown from Abu Dhabi, UAE, to Nushki, Balochistan, on June 22, 2019.

It is to mention that there is no any international or national airport in Noshki city of Balochistan.

Rashid Hussain, a Baloch human rights activist, “was detained by the UAE intelligence agencies in plain clothe on December 26, 2018.” According to his family, three days later, he was brought handcuffed to his residence where the forces searched the house for his passport, suggesting that they were planning to deport him to Pakistan. After seven months of detention, Mr Hussain was eventually extradited to Pakistan on June 22, 2019.

In an open letter to Sheikh Abdullah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE, Amnesty International, a rights group, urged him to “reveal Rashid Hussain’s whereabouts” and “ allow him regular and private communication with his family” and a right to hire a “lawyer of his choice.” It also urged the foreign minister to “ensure that refoulement contrary to international law does not occur and that any charges against Rashid Hussain are tried in open court proceedings with all due legal process.”

Amnesty International also said that the repeated attempts by the UAE intelligence agencies to acquire Mr Hussain’s passport suggest that his detention is “preparatory to extrajudicial rendition to Pakistan” and that “there is reason to believe his life would be in danger if forcibly returned there.”

A special anti-terrorism court in Karachi in a trial of ‘attack on the Chinese Consulate’ declared Rashid Hussain a fugitive and issued an arrest warrant against him.

Mr Hussain’s sister rejected the conviction, saying that they will “continue to struggle for his recovery.” Mama Qadeer Baloch, the vice-chairman of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, said that: “Rashid Hussain is not on a run but under custody of the Pakistani intelligence agencies.”

Historical relationship between Kurd and Baloch.

The Kurds are the ethnical group living in a region known as Kurdistan which is divided into Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Iran. They  are struggling for an independent region since decades and they are famous for their female guerrilla fighters.        On 25 September 2017, the referendum for an independent Kurdish region  was held in Iraq with a turn out of 72 %.   On this important occasion, the historical relation between Kurd and Baloch people is worth discussing.       When it comes to history, every nation tends to find its roots and origin. Same goes with the Baloch people. The Baloch people are always curious  about  finding their roots in history. Even if you  talk to a shepherd in Balochistan, he will be curious to talk about his  tribal or ethnical roots.      The Balochs have always conveyed the history to the next generations in different mediums like poems etc. No Baloch before 20th century had written books on  history  or origin of the Baloch nation .
