Awaran police personnel used batons and tear gas on civilians, injuring two civilians and arresting five others.
According to local journalist Shafiq Mehr, The incident took place when the police tortured a local shopkeeper and detained his brother. after the police crackdown, shopkeepers closed their shops and staged a sit-in in front of the police station.
According to details, the protesting traders closed their businesses and marched to the police station in a peaceful rally where police dispersed them with tear gas and baton charges.
Awaran’s business community and political and social figures termed the police brutality in this holy month of Ramadan as utter cruelty and said that instead of maintaining law and order, the police were torturing people us unjustifiably.
Locals told CB that we strongly condemned it. they harass the fasting people every day and take their motorcycles to the police station and charge them Rs-1000 per a motorcycle.
They demanded the authorities to take stern notice of the police terrorism and release the arrested persons immediately and provide justice to the violent person.
