Quetta: VBMP reopens protest camp for Baloch missing persons

Missing Ghulam Farooq’s mother has passed away.

The VBMP protest camp has been re-established in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, for the recovery of the missing persons. VBMP leader Mama Qadeer Baloch is leading the protest.

Protests over the past decade for the recovery of Baloch missing persons was postponed due to the Coronavirus Covid-19.

VBMP Vice Chairman Mama Qadeer Baloch says that due to the Corona Virus outbreak, we had postponed our protest for 14 days following the government’s Balochistan lockdown order.

Mama Qadeer says that during the days of the outbreak, our fifty thousand missing persons were not released nor were brought to the surface, but it is to be said with regret that more people are being picked up during this period, including women.

He added that a bride was picked up at her wedding ceremony in Washuk before some days, while from Mashkey nine people, including a woman were abducted. We hoped that people would be released due to the outbreak, but dozens more are getting disappeared from Balochistan.

Meanwhile, the mother of the missing Ghulam Farooq, passed away.

According to the VBMP, the missing Ghulam Farooq’s mother also passed away today, in last three days of her life she kept calling her son name. Ghulam Farooq’s mother has been participating in the protest of the organization since October 2018 in the hope that someone will hear her cry and give her justice.

Ghulam Farooq, son of Abdul Rasool, is missing from June 2, 2015. According to his relatives, he was abducted by Pakistani intelligence agencies from Hyderabad.
