Balochistan CM approves uplift projects for Gwadar

By mohammad zafar Apr.07,2019Kamal issues directives for forming search committee in health deptQUETTA  : Chief Minister Jam Kamal has approved town planning of old Gwadar city and directed the authorities concerned to start implementing mega development projects of the port city.The chief minister, who is also the chairman of Gwadar Development Authority (GDA), said this while presiding over the 18th governing body meeting of the authority on Friday.It was attended by MNA from Gwadar-Lasbela Mohammad Aslam Bhootani, MPA Mir Hamal Kalmati and other members of the governing body.The meeting agreed on a suggestion that the Balochistan government must be taken into confidence while launching development projects from different organisations.The governing body members discussed the agenda of the meeting presented by GDA Chairman Shahzeb Kakar and directed the authority to construct roads and provide basic facilities to the citizens of the port city.Uplift of Gwadar top priority, says Balo…

Two security men killed in Gwadar attack

GWADAR: Two security personnel were martyred and another was injured in an attack in Gwadar district on Saturday.Official sources said armed men holed up in the mountains in the Dharam area between Turbat and Gwadar opened fire on security personnel patrolling the area. As a result, two security men lost their lives and an officer got injured.When security personnel returned fire, the attackers fled the site.A heavy contingent of Frontier Corps and officials of local administration rushed to the scene of the crime and shifted the bodies and the injured to district hospital.ARTICLE CONTINUES AFTER ADSecurity forces launched a search operation in the area to trace out the attackers.Published in Dawn, April 7th, 2019

Security cooperation has become an increasingly important aspect of China’s some $62 billion investments in Pakistan, made under the umbrella of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Chinese workers and infrastructure face a continuous threat of attacks by militant groups on Pakistani territory. In just two years after the 2015 launch of CPEC, militants had killed 44 workers on related projects and injured more than 100.
