Pakistan may have launched Project Harvest to target retired Indian Army, police officers

Pakistan's ISI has launched a new project against India named 'Project Harvest' to target retired Army and police officers.

Manjeet Sehgal ChandigarhMay 28, 2019UPDATED: May 28, 2019 11:57 IST

Pakistan's ISI is learnt to have launched 'Project Harvest' against India, which is aimed at targeting senior retired police and Army officers in Punjab and other parts of India.

India Today TV has learnt that ISI has launched 'Project Harvest' to start a drive to target retired police officials and army personnel. Sources say a Canada-based Khalistan activist has been given the responsibility to launch 'Project Harvest'.

Security agencies are also keeping an eye on the activities of pro-Khalistan group 'Sikhs For Justice' (SFJ), which is sponsoring free air tickets to people willing to join the Khalistan Referendum movement. The agencies are also investigating whether SFJ was part of ISI's 'Project Harvest'.

Meanwhile, the Station Superintendent at Pathankot Railway Station has received a threat mail claiming the Pathankot City and Cantt railway stations will be blown up. Police said the letter was received by post.

Security has been heightened in Pathankot while forces are also bracing for ISI trying to flare separatist activities and tension in the Punjab region.

Highly placed sources told India Today TV that fake news on the dismantling of Guru Nanak Mahal structure could also be the brainchild of ISI to instigate Sikhs.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had expressed apprehension that Pakistan's ISI and hardline Sikh groups may misuse Kartarpur corridor for anti-India activities.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that India will not tolerate any separatist activities, Pakistan PM Imran Khan is under pressure to act against Khalistan and other terror groups. However, action may be limited to issuing statements as ISI continues to oppose the moves.

It is to be noted here that the differences between Imran Khan and Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Bajwa are growing over pro-India and pro-Sikh initiatives like opening of the Kartarpur corridor.

Historical relationship between Kurd and Baloch.

The Kurds are the ethnical group living in a region known as Kurdistan which is divided into Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Iran. They  are struggling for an independent region since decades and they are famous for their female guerrilla fighters.        On 25 September 2017, the referendum for an independent Kurdish region  was held in Iraq with a turn out of 72 %.   On this important occasion, the historical relation between Kurd and Baloch people is worth discussing.       When it comes to history, every nation tends to find its roots and origin. Same goes with the Baloch people. The Baloch people are always curious  about  finding their roots in history. Even if you  talk to a shepherd in Balochistan, he will be curious to talk about his  tribal or ethnical roots.      The Balochs have always conveyed the history to the next generations in different mediums like poems etc. No Baloch before 20th century had written books on  history  or origin of the Baloch nation .
