The ad campaign in New York is sponsored by the World Baloch Organization (WBO), which is headed by Mir Javed Mengal. Mengal is the elder brother of former chief minister Sardar Akhtar Mengal. His father, Sardar Ataullah Mengal, was also chief minister briefly for nine months in 1973. Karakoram Kowtowing: Pusillanimous Pakistanis and Calculating Chinese

Burzine Waghmar's lecture,  Karakoram Kowtowing: Pusillanimous Pakistanis and Calculating Chinese  at CPEC seminar, “ CPEC: Diplomatic debt-trap or economic game-changer for South Asia?”,  London, Dec. 15, 2017.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=800BTGdKmKM&t=18s Mr. Burzine Waghmar said that Pakistan’s long relationship with China as its ‘all-weather friend’, is an asymmetrical deliberately cynical relationship wherein Beijing has always assumed the mantle of an Marxist imperialist. He questioned the love of Pakistan for their Muslim brethren in Jammu & Kashmir and Palestine while it remains silent over the persecution of the Uyghur Muslims in China’s Xinjiang Province where even fasting in Ramadan is prohibited, while adding that this selective outrage is hypocritical, to say the least. Discussing the economic ramifications of the CPEC for Pakistanis themselves, Mr. Waghmar stated that Islamabad had to accept that all CPEC contracts must be with Chinese contractors who

India unwitting party to demonising Balochistan

India unwitting party to demonising Balochistan July 20, 2009 12:42 IST Dear Ms Sonia Gandhi    No other section of the people of Pakistan have stood by India and the Pakistani Hindus as lovingly, as loyally and as courageously as the Balochs have done. Of all the people of Pakistan, the Balochs were the closest to the hearts of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, P V Narasimha Rao and other leaders of the Congress of pre-2004 vintage.   When India and Pakistan became independent in 1947, in the riots that preceded and followed Partition, practically all Hindus, Sikhs and other non-Muslims were driven out of Pakistani Punjab and many of them from Sindh and the North-West Frontier Province, despite the protection given to non-Muslims in the NWFP by Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, the Frontier Gandhi, and his brave followers. The only area of Pakistan from which the non-Muslims were not driven out was Balochistan.   When Babri Masjid was demolished by a Hindu

China rejects US reservations over CPEC

https://pakobserver.net/china-rejects-us-reservations-cpec/ Observer Report Beijing China’s foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying has rejected reservations of the US over the CPEC project saying China’s economic and diplomatic activities around the globe are broadly welcomed by countries all over the world and the international community cannot lose sight of them. It is futile for any country or any report to distort the facts or hurl malicious slander. The spokesperson said, China will by no means pursue its own development at the expense of other countries’ interests and neither will it give up its own legitimate rights and interests. China firmly safeguards its own sovereignty, security and development interests and no one should have the illusion that China would swallow the bitter fruit of jeopardizing its own interests. China’s development mainly rests upon the hard work of its own people and also benefits from its mutually beneficial cooperation with countries all over
