The CPEC connects China's restive Xinjiang province with Gwadar Port in Balochistan.BEIJING: China today dismissed a top Pakistani Army General's allegation that India has established a special intelligence cell at a cost of USD 500 million to sabotage the strategic China-Pakistan Economic Corridor ( CPEC), saying it does not have any such report.Chairman of Pakistan's Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mehmood Hayat on November 14 said had accused India of stoking "chaos and anarchy" in the region.He alleged that Indian's external intelligence agency RAW has established a special cell at a cost of USD 500 million to sabotage the CPEC. He also accused India of fanning terrorism in the restive province of Balochistan.

KARACHI: A demo was organised here on Monday to protest against acute shortage of drinking water in Gwadar.A large number of Gwadar residents, members of civil society, and political activists arrived in Karachi from Gwadar and held a protest demonstration outside Karachi Press Club (KPC) against water shortage.Addressing the protest, speakers said that Balochistan government had completely failed to provide drinking water to the people of Gwadar. Despite multiple incidents relating to violence in contemporary Balochistan including a series of suicide attacks, there is not much attention either in the national media, or a political debate within and outside the Parliament in Islamabad. In fact, the ongoing demonstration by the Labbaik in Islamabad has been given more space in the print, electronic and social media, than multiple incidents of violence within Balochistan during the recent months.Clearly, there is a slow burn within Balochistan. The rest of Pakistan may be well aware, but are focussed on other developments in Sindh, Punjab and KP. ISLAMABAD: The Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will meet here on Tuesday (Nov 21) to review and finalise a long-term plan (LTP) 2017-30 envisaging key areas of bilateral cooperation over the next 13 years amid Islamabad’s policy adjustments to facilitate Chinese investment and financing.A senior government official told reporters that both senior officials meeting (SOM) and formal JCC meeting headed by ministers from the two countries would begin with discussions on the LTP in an attempt to sign a final agreement.
