THE HANS INDIA |    Apr 28,2017 , 03:47 AM IST.
The April 13 Mother of All Bombs (MOAB) strike by the United States on ISIS terrorists in Afghanistan has triggered suggestions that a second round of the Cold War is set to begin. Particularly as the new US President, Donald Trump, seems to be brash, abrasive and capable of taking action without thinking of consequences.
In fact, the Second Cold War, or the Cold War-II, has been in the making due to the rise of Islamic terrorism from Pakistan and Afghanistan to the Middle East, drawing inevitable military interventions by the major powers – Russia's anger at the US-led bombings in Syria where it wants President Bashar Assad to stay, and China's attempts to annex most of the South China Sea and also the acquisition of Pakistan's Arabian Sea port of Gwadar for 40 or more years as a strategic naval base with its operational Command a…

http://www.valuewalk.com/

By Polina Tikhonova on April 27, 2017 9:37 am in PoliticsWith CPEC, China, Pakistan and Russia are bringing multipolar world order to challenge the U.S.-dominated unipolar world order. No world order is able to withstand the test of time. Washington has controlled the rest of the world for quite a while, so the emergence of a powerful alliance between China and Pakistan – with Russia added into the equation – challenges U.S. global dominance and aims to bring multipolar world order. By Government of Pakistan [Public domain], via Wikimedia CommonsBeijing and Islamabad used the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a net to catch a giant and elusive butterfly: the U.S. and its global dominance. Through CPEC, which promises to help Pakistan emerge as a major power in Asia within the coming years, China wants to connect Europe, the Arab countries and Africa with the Russia- and China-dominated Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), something that would star…

The new divide

OpinionSanaullah BalochApril 26, 2017

Pakistan’s socio-economic landscape is shockingly divided. Eastern Pakistan, comprising Punjab and Sindh, is more developed, with a higher rate of literacy and quality education, 99 percent of Pakistan’s industrial base, access to water for irrigation, advanced rate of employment and a modern health system. And now it also has a larger share of CPEC investment.Fata, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on the other hand, fall on the western side of Pakistan. These areas have over 80 percent poverty, a crumbling infrastructure, decaying education and health systems, high levels of unemployment, zero industrialisation and high levels of physical insecurity. They also have a very small share in CPEC investment. The underdevelopment of the western part of Pakistan and over-development of the eastern part of country is not mere imagination. Pakistan’s first ever Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI), launched in June 2016, highlighted these stark socio-eco…

Water problem in Gwadar

TurbatIt is an undeniable fact that water is the basic need of a human without it life could not generate on earth. But in this developed era still some cities and towns are there which are suffering from the shortage of water. It is a fact that Gwadar is going to be the best city of Balochistan and Pakistan in future but I am sorry to say that the city which was suffering before from the same issues is still suffering and facing hardships for the same issues. The city where drinking water is not available for the citizens is going to be called the most beautiful (and perhaps the most prosperous – thanks to CPEC) city of Pakistan.
These are just dreams since the development is coming but not for the common masses since before they suffered and today also they are suffering for the basic facility. The needy ones are deprived of water and are leaving their homes but the Balochistan government is silent. Is the governm…
