Kashmir Nexus of Media & Violence: Interview with Madhu Kishwar

Madhu Kishwar, a prominent public intellectual and a dear friend of mine for many years, was recently given a non-bailable arrest warrant by a Kashmir court.   Her alleged crime was that she exposed a journalist who is well-positioned in the power nexus of Kashmir, by arguing that he is aligned with separatists, and yet he receives money from the J&K state government and Indian government.   She has been charged with criminal defamation.   This live episode of my investigative reports discusses: The nexus among media in Kashmir, government patronage and militants. Pakistani link in Kashmir violence. Ethnic cleansing of Hindus in Kashmir. The silence of Indian and global mainstream media in exposing the deep Hinduphobia. This episode of my show is pressuring mainstream media to pay attention & cover the facts.   To watch this video:  CLICK

JADHAV VICTIM OF PAK-CHINA BALOCH ROMANCE

http://www.dailypioneer.com/columnists/oped/jadhav-victim-of-pak-china-baloch-romance.html Saturday, 15 April 2017 |  Jumma Marri  | in  Oped 1 It is a well-known fact that Pakistan always looked for blame games and excuses to carry on with her illegal occupation of Balochistan and genocidal military operation against the Baloch people. The aim is to defeat the Baloch fight for freedom and force them to surrender to the Punjabi elite who could then loot Baloch resources without any resistance. China, Pakistan’s close friend, joined the Punjabi looting class closely in 2001 in its efforts to kill and plunder Baloch resources unabashedly. It has now increased the stakes by announcing the so-called China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) that has raised Pakistan’s strategical importance many times in the region and beyond. There are no doubts about the importance of CPEC for China and Pakistan (read Punjab). China has even declared it as the flagship project under the “One Belt, On

When will India decide to strike at Pakistan's weakest spot?

http://www.dailyo.in/politics/pakistan-afghanistan-balochistan-taliban-pashtuns-india-modi/story/1/16686.html Over the years, Islamabad has exploited Pashtuns as cannon fodder, including its own citizens on this side of the Durand Line. The water, however, didn’t cover his heel and an arrow wound to his heel later killed him. Pakistan, in comparison, has multitude vulnerabilities, primarily as a result of Pakistan fauj’s “ strategic culture stemming from pathological geopolitics infused with a Salafi jihadist ideology, suffused by paranoia and neurosis ” as recently observed by Col Robert Cassidy, PhD, US Army. And while the vulnerabilities extend to include socio-ethno-religious spheres of public life, and wreak havoc to its national fabric - the Pakistan fauj with its control o

Sardars want to become face of Baloch Nationalism

A few renegade scions belonging to Bugti, Marri and Mengal houses of sardars, on payroll of foreign powers and stationed abroad, are trying to become the face of Baloch nationalism. This reeks of crass opportunism because these very sardars demanding greater political rights, autonomy and control over their natural resources remain in themselves the main stumbling block to preventing the benefits of progress and the fruits of royalty of the natural resources from trickling to the masses. The sardari system in Balochistan was abolished in the early sixties, but successive governments failed to translate it into reality due to entrenched resistance by the Baloch sardars. It is a manifestation of their unbridled power that sardars, blatantly and brazenly, maintain personal militias equipped with modern weapons and challenge the writ of the state with impunity. It is heartrending as to how they can trod upon, most inhumanely, on the fundamental rights of their followers, claiming authority
