PARC trains 118 small farmers of Balochistan

Staff ReporterIslamabadPakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) has trained 7th batch of 118 small farmers of Balochistan, aimed at the development of agriculture sector of the province. The PARC has launched various projects in the province for the promotion of agriculture, livestock and horticulture sectors to enhance the farm income of small scale farmers for alleviating poverty from less developed areas of the province.
Addressing the concluding ceremony of four week training course Chairman PARC, Dr Yousuf Zafar said that the council was giving special priority to small farmers of the province for their capacity building. The course was organized by Agriculture Poly-technique Institute of National Agriculture Research Center, PARC under Research for Agricultural Development Programme (RADP) for the farmers of Balochistan, he added.

KARACHI: China will use Pakistani land route to transport frozen seafood landing at the south Asian deep-sea Gwadar port, a Chinese newspaper said on Friday.  Mufeng Biological Technology Co, which will ship products from its cold-storage distribution centre near Khunjerab, will start regular shipments from April 1, according to China Daily. The company successfully conducted a trial last month.Frozen seafood will depart Pakistan’s Gwadar port on the shores of the Arabian Sea in container trucks and enter China via the Khunjerab Pass, a land port in southern Xinjiang’s Kashgar prefecture, a more than 1,500-kilometre journey. February 18, 2017Islamabad - A parliamentary committee was informed on Friday that 83 percent gas supply to Balochistan was going unbilled or stolen annually.“According to officials of the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) of the entire annual natural gas supply to Balochistan, 83 percent is going unbilled, which means it is being stolen,” Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid KhaqanAbbasi told the Senate Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources.
