Extra judicial killing, Enforced Disappearances high in Military operations

(Daily Sangar) 17 years old daughter of Yousuf, Shams Khatoon was killed in aerial sheling of military helicopters during an operation in Kilkor area of Panjgur, on 17 August 2017.

Participation of Pakistan’s Air Force in combating Baloch Nationalist militancy is not a new development. Nor killing of innocent civilians is. Reports from Balochistan states there are dozens of military operations in Balochistan’s vast mountainous areas every day.

Abduction and Enforced Disappearance is also high, along with extra judicial killings, specially during these military operations in the villages.

Military handed over two dead bodies in District Head Quarter’s Hospital, saying they were killed in the battle in the areas of Awaran where military is engaged in months long military operations.

On 27 August 2017, Saleem Dilmurad was abducted by security forces during a military operation in Machat area of Dasht district Kech.

On 25 August 2017, at around 17:00 Balochistan time, security forces abducted two civilians, Wahid, resident of Mondi and Rahim Bakhsh Hasan, resident of Cheb Rekhani of district Gwadar, from Mondi, district Gwadar, Balochistan. After one day of torture, Wahid was released and Rahim was handed over to local police.

On 23 August 2017, forces carried out a military operation in Sebdan Dasht district Kech and abducted Rashid Bahram and Ali Murad Mohammed during the house-to-house search operation.On 20 August 2017, from Kapkapar area of Dasht, Pakistani security forces abducted Hameed Rasheed and Liaqat Baitullah residents of Jan Mohammad Bazar, Dasht district Kech, Balochistan.

On 20 August 2017, two civilians, Nabil Wajdad resident of Kapkapar and Shahmir resident of Garag area of Dasht, were abducted in front of a shop in Kapkapar.

On 22 August 2017, from Wadh district Khuzdar, forces abducted Dr Azam s/o Diljan resident of Gresha district Awaran, when he was traveling to Karachi, in a passenger bus.

On 31 August 2017, from Bunjahi Bazar, district Awaran, Pakistani security forces abducted Zakir Khan Mohammad, a resident of Gandakor area of district Awaran, Balochistan.

On 30 August 2017, forces abducted two civilians, Hanif Faiz Mohammad and Sabir Azim during a military operation in Kuchaw, Dasht district Kech, Balochistan.

Most of the persons able to read and write, are either missing or they are already killed in fake encounters, shot killed by unknown gunmen. It’s causing the situation of Balochistan under reported.
