LONDON, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese ambassador to Britain Liu Xiaoming on Monday said that he is fully confident about the future of China-Britain relations, urging the two countries to turn confidence into actions and turn potential into success.
Liu made such remarks at a reception marking the 68th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
He said that building a China-Britain "Golden Era" is not a slogan, but a brand new definition of the two countries' bilateral relationship and a symbol of determination to build consensus and deepen cooperation.
"We can deliver more 'golden fruits' in this 'Golden Era'," he said.
Liu said China's development provides new opportunities to advance the bilateral relations.
The ambassador took the Belt and Road Initiative as an example, saying the initiative offers a platform for countries to share China's development benefits and work together for win-win cooperation.
Proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013, the Belt and Road Initiative aims to build trade and infrastructure networks connecting Asia with Europe and Africa on and beyond the ancient Silk Road routes. It comprises the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
The ambassador also said the two nations' opportunities arise from coordination of their development strategies and lie in the extensive, friendly exchanges
