Efforts on to make Balochistan prosperous

Published: April 12, 2010

QUETTA - Balochistan Finance Minister and Parliamentary leader of PML-Q in Baloc-histan Assembly Mir Asim Kurd Gailoo has said that the provincial government under the leadership of Nawab Aslam Raisani was making all out efforts to bring prosperity to the province.

He expressed these views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of newspapers market in Quetta on Sunday. Gailoo lauded the role of newspaper hawkers in dissemination of information, saying they were the backbone of newspaper industry who perform their duties without caring for harsh weather and ensure supply of newspapers to readers early in the morning.

He said that newspaper hawkers had faced difficulties and struggled for the construction of newspaper market and ultimately their efforts yielded fruits.
He said that the Chief Minister himself wanted to attend the ceremony and inaugurate newspaper market but he could not come due to some engagements and added that provision of funds by Chief Minister for market was commendable.

Gailoo said that the coalition government under leadership of Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani was taking all possible steps to financially empower people and reduce poverty in the province.

He said that ongoing development projects in the province were due to efforts of Chief Minister, as coalition government did not believe in hollow claims and lip services.

“Accepting Balochistan’s stance in NFC-Award, waiving off overdraft of Balochistan, restoration of Levies Force, and resolution of GDS issue are ground realities of achievement of the coalition government”, he added.

He said that the incumbent government had also succeeded in getting control of Gwadar Port and identifying injustices with Balochistan in the agreements of
Saindak and Reko Diq projects.

Chief Minister’s Advisor Raheela Durrani, Commissioner Quetta Division Naseem Lehri and other high ups were also present on the occasion.
